Guests: Sue-Anne Hunter – Commissioner/Deputy Chair at Yoorrook Justice Commission in Victoria talks about their truth telling commission, which has the powers of a royal commission, and put forward 46 recommendations in its latest interim report released this week.  The Yoorrook report calls for self-determination to transform Victoria’s child protection and criminal justice systems.

Alice Barter, ALSWA Human Rights/Civil Unit Managing Solicitor brings us up to date on Banksia/Unit 18 and ALSWA services including: Police complaints, Prisoner assistance, Coronial inquests, Racial discrimination, Raise the age campaign and the Human Rights Act campaign.  Alice also reflects upon her years working with ALSWA as she embarks upon the next stage of her legal journey.  Her final day with ALSWA is on 8th September and we wish Alice the very best for the future.
