ALSWA CEO Dennis Eggington was announced as the recipient of the ‘Indigenous Leadership Award’ at the WA Citizen of the Year Awards on 28 May 2011. He speaks candidly about receiving the Award and acknowledges the contributions of fellow nominees in this category. Also discussed is the unacceptable practice of holding children in adult lock ups, and the Constitutional Recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
