The Australian Government appeared before the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in Geneva on 10-11 August 2010 for a periodic review of its performance under the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD). ALSWA submitted a brief factual summary regarding the case of Mr Ward to submit to the Committee for consideration during Australia’s review.
ALSWA was also involved in preparing the detailed non-government organisation (NGO) Shadow Report that was submitted to the Committee in the lead up to the review in June 2010. The NGO Shadow Report can be downloaded from:
