Guests: ALSWA’s Jonathon Reid, Tammy Solonec and Dennis Eggington

Jonathon Reid ALSWA Family Law Unit Lawyer

To the best of our knowledge, Jonathon is the only Aboriginal Family Law lawyer in WA.  Graduating from UWA three years ago, he shares his own story with us and talks about what motivated him to embark upon a career in law.

Tammy Solonec Law and Advocacy Unit Manager

ALSWA’s Law and Advocacy Unit has expanded and can now provide more support for our prisoners and community members.  Tammy discusses what lead her to work within WA’s justice system and the important work that the unit does in community legal education, advocacy and the protection and promotion of human rights.

Dennis Eggington ALSWA Chief Executive Officer

ALSWA was the proud sponsor of the 2010 Moorditj Mural project and a spectacular mural capturing significant events in ALSWA’s history was unveiled and launched on 1 November 2010.  Spanning 5 metres in length, the mural was created by David Wirrpanda Foundation and Central Institute of Technology ‘Solid Futures’ students with acclaimed Noongar artist Peter Farmer.  The mural is now proudly displayed at ALSWA’s Head Office in Perth where it will both inform and inspire all who visit.
