ALSWA made a brief submission in response to the ALRC Discussion Paper on Family Violence – Commonwealth Laws (ALRC Discussion Paper). ALSWA’s submission refers to and endorses the submissions of the Central Australian Aboriginal Legal Aid Service (CAALAS) and the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA). This endorsement is in light of their expertise and experience in providing legal advice and assistance to Aboriginal peoples who have been affected by discriminatory income management measures under the Northern Territory Emergency Response since 2007.
